The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) will hold a NET Examination on
27.10.2013 (Sunday) at 33 Centres in India as per the rules and Scheme of Examination indicated in this Notification. Candidates are advised to read the notification carefully before filling the Online Application Form.
NET is a qualifying examination for determining eligibility for Lecturer / Assistant Professor in the State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) and other Agricultural Universities (AUs) only. Candidates clearing the National Eligibility Test will be eligible for Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the SAUs/AUs. NET Certificates will be issued by the ASRB to the qualified candidates to enable them to apply against vacancies to be notified or advertised by the State Agricultural Universities/ Agricultural Universities. SAUs/AUs who will satisfy themselves with regard to fulfillment of prescribed conditionals and consider them for the recruitment process for Lecturers/Assistant Professors.
Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years as on 01.8.2013.There is no upper age limit for the National Eligibility Test. A candidate will not be able to fill in the online application form in case he/she is born after 02.8.1992.
Educational Qualification: A candidate for the National Eligibility Test must have a Master’s degree or equivalent in the concerned subject with specialization completed on or before 01.08.2013 as defined in Annexure-II from any Indian University incorporated by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or he/she must have qualification from a foreign University recognized as equivalent by the Government of India (GoI).
Application Fee:
Plan of Net Examination: There will one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type multiple choice questions to be solved in 2 (Two) hours. Each question carries one mark. These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.
